In the listings of the itc/PolyGram tapes, the numbers on the right indicate the original production order in which the episodes were shot. A closer look at these reveals that the first Joe 90 tape and the first two Stingray, Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet tapes combine initially unrelated episodes edited together to form one coherent story. This, of course, meant adding new titles and credits.
To make things even more complicated, the six re-edited Thunderbirds episodes first appeared back to back on three separate tapes and were re-issued later as noted, without undoing the fateful edits however. Luckily the rest of the tapes have been issued in the original order with the original episodes intact.
Then, itc/PolyGram decided to add theirs to the fray by releasing tapes combining Supercar and Fireball XL5 episodes.
Both feature films [Thunderbirds Are Go! and Thunderbird Six] have been released on video as well as on laser disc [the disc is preferable by far, since it is letterboxed]. Both videos were issued in Holland with subtitles and appeared later on in a bumperpack version in the UK.
All Thunderbirds episodes have also been released on two different Japanese laser disc sets; one set features eight discs with four episodes each, the other has it exactly the other way around: four discs with eight episodes each. According to sources, the latter set seems to have been scanned from superior quality 35mm copies.
In response to the many inquiries from readers/viewers, following are the vital statistics of retailers selling the above listed English language videos [and maybe the discs as well].
